Abstarct: Today, in the world, especially in Iran, the construction of tall buildings is preferred due to the rapid increase in land prices, the lack of land, and the preservation of land in rural areas for agricultural use. In earthquake-prone areas like Iran, the earthquake load dominates the design of high-rise buildings. The performance of buildings depends on the configuration of the structure, and the purpose of this thesis is to compare the seismic performance of tall buildings with hybrid shear walls. In the current research, two tall buildings under the influence of seismic loads with different structural systems, namely (a) special bending frxames with concrete coupling shear wall and steel connection beam, (b) special bending frxames with concrete coupling shear wall and beam concrete bond, have been investigated. The building models are located in BABOLSAR, Mazandaran, which has type 3 soil. Detailed analysis of the building system has been done by modeling the geometry, cross-sectional properties of materials and boundary conditions. The structures have been analyzed and checked using ETABS 2020 and Perform 3D software. Appropriate elements were assigned to beams and columns. The slab is modeled as a rigid diaphragm to simulate the dynamic behavior of tall building structures. First, a modal analysis is performed to obtain the natural frequency/period of the buildings. In addition, seismic analysis has been performed to obtain performance levels and other responses. At first, push-over analysis was performed to obtain the behavior of the buildings. Then, time history analysis has been done to obtain the dynamic behavior of buildings. Ten earthquakes compatible with the design spectrum of this document 2800 at the maximum earthquake level are considered for time history analysis. With the obtained results, a comparison has been made to evaluate the performance of structural systems with hybrid coupling beams. The results indicate that the building with the hybrid shear wall system and the ductility is close to the concrete shear wall system. The behavior of the two structures is very close to each other due to the reduction of stiffness in the structure with the steel beam. The building with a hybrid coupling beam showed good behavior by maintaining the performance that we considered, and in the nonlinear dynamic analysis of the non-linear drift of floors, we observed a better performance compared to the building with a reinforced concrete coupling beam.
